Chicago Culinary Adventures is hosting a lively evening of French film and discussion at the Alliance Française de Chicago.

Sugar Cane Alley is a heartwarming story taking place on the island of Martinque in the early 1900s. It is a story of a boy (Jose), being raised by his grandmother, who is very smart and does well is school. His grandmother doesn't want him to work in the sugar cane fields so that he can escape poverty through education. She works very hard so that he can attend a private school and have a good life. This is an inspiring movie that no one should miss!
